WELCOME TO KALIBOTAN

KALIBOTAN is a charitable foundation that fundraises through social charity events, in order to provide financial support to a portfolio of non-governmental organizations. We choose specific NGO programs in various developing communities around the globe, by thoroughly evaluating each project proposal in a selection process.

OUR STORY

KALIBOTAN was established to raise funds in efforts to support sustainable non-profit projects in developing communities, provide student mentoring and training to young professionals. KALIBOTAN also intends to create manageable small jobs, such as that in arts and crafts, in efforts to help those in need of extra income. The organization will create partnerships with schools, universities, companies, and other non-profits worldwide.

Through charitable events such as PARU-PARU along with the above mentioned partnerships, KALIBOTAN intends to link its participating members and enable progressive collaboration, in effort to help improve societies.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

KALIBOTAN is an organization that aims to develop a positive effect on communities in need of basic necessities such as: food, security, irrigation, sanitation, housing, basic healthcare, and other community development requirements. We partner with other non-profits that are already present in such communities, to help their organizations realize strategies that address the issues stated above.

Moreover, KALIBOTAN intends to inspire artists, designers, students and young professionals of various backgrounds, by providing them real experiences through our organization. We will aid them by providing opportunities to harness their skill set and motivate progress in their career goals. KALIBOTAN will engage the artists, designers, students and young professionals with experienced professionals and mentors to help them manifest their goals.

With mentorship, community service and professional training, KALIBOTAN hope to instill a mindset of the importance of community involvement, collaboration and giving. Along with our mission, we plan to nourish and improve livelihood in all communities involved.

WHO WE ARE

Name Etymology: KALIBOTAN means: “the world,” or “our livelihood,” in Bisaya, one of Philippines’ dialect. Our team agreed to christen the organization with such a name as it encompasses our goals and mission, in bridging gaps between communities and bringing livelihood to our staff members, partners and participants.

Title and theme of one of KALIBOTAN’s charitable fashion show events. PARU-PARU means: “butterfly,” in Tagalog, the Philippines national language.PARU-PARU was especially chosen to be the title and theme of KALIBOTAN’s first official event, for it signifies metamorphosis -- that portrays a meaningful symbolism to the organizations core mission in helping change the world become a “better place.”

PARU-PARU is a charity fashion show event that aims to bridge fashion with and philanthropy.
